     Joy first met Lenny in 2007 when their high school boys were opponents in a tennis match.  Their families became fast friends, sharing common interests in tennis, swimming and, most importantly, really good food.  Len and Joy became a mixed-doubles competition tennis team.  As their friendship grew, they discovered that they both shared not only a passion for tennis but a passion for cooking.  Each time their families shared a meal together, Joy would bring over a new culinary creation.  One day, Joy brought her apple sauce to a family gathering.  Len’s oldest son, who had a very particular taste for a certain brand of apple sauce, after one mouthful of Joy’s apple sauce stated, “This is awesome – it should be in a jar!”  Len and Joy both agreed that they should try to get Joy’s apple sauce to market as soon as possible. 

     They were anxious to share the delicious taste of Mrs. Bryant’s™ Orchard Fresh Gourmet™ Apple Sauces with everyone.  With Joy’s background as a patent attorney, author, and former industrial chemist and Len’s background as a business consultant, retired dentist, published research author, and having a law degree, they were able to quickly maneuver through the many obstacles involved in delivering a new product to the marketplace.  They were able to establish their company, design a label, develop five flavors of apple sauces (three with no sugar added), complete several large production runs, obtain approval and certification as a Virginia’s Finest company, set-up a website, and launch our product line in the marketplace – all within 5 months.  Since their initial apple sauce product line launch, they have received nothing but praise from those who have tasted Mrs. Bryant’s products.  The Mrs. Bryant’s tradename was chosen because many of Joy’s children’s friends have tasted Joy’s products while in the development stage and these children know Joy as Mrs. Bryant.

     Now, fast forward to Nouvel’s Tour de Cuisine spice blends and rubs.  While working with their culinary spice expert on their proprietary spice blends for Mrs. Bryant’s apple sauces, Lenny and Joy brainstormed together, developing their next product line.  Mrs. Bryant’s™ Estate Fresh Gourmet™ Tour de Cuisine™ spice blends provide an easy way for everyone to experience the cultural flair of a different region of the world each day while never leaving their kitchens.  Mrs. Bryant’s L’essence de Africa, Cuba, France, India, Jamaica, Louisiana delivers nature’s essence from six (6) different regions of the world.  Each spice blend and rub is suitable for all foods – meats, poultry, fish, seafood, fruits and vegetables.  These blends may be used as rubs or added to already cooked meals, into soups, sauces, sour cream or oil for dips, rice or potatoes adding an influence from the region selected.  Our upscale packaging in a beautiful tin “keeps the flavor in and the humidity out”™!  The tin’s transparent top allows one to easily see the spice colored blends and how much of the blend is left in the tin.  When the cover of the tin is removed, it is easy to fit a measuring spoon into the container so none of the spice blend is wasted.  With Mrs. Bryant’s™ Estate Fresh Gourmet™ Tour de Cuisine spice blends, even the most novice cook can succeed while looking like a master chef - whether at home with family or entertaining guests.  Spice blend customers are in awe of this product and its packaging.  They are delighted with the unique, cultural experience that the spice blend adds to their cooking.  Customers keep returning to add more regions to their collection. 

     Once the spice collection was developed, Joy and Lenny discovered that they needed a way for people to be able to taste the spices.  They decided to add the spices to a neutral food such as bread.  When Joy presented her bread to a friend to taste, she was surprised to learn that the friend could not eat the bread because of an aversion to wheat.  Joy and Lenny quickly learned that many people have this adverse reaction because they suffer from Celiac’s disease.  The mission to create products that tasted just as good, if not better, than traditional products and be enjoyed by all was borne.  Joy began working with gluten free flours to use as substitutes for traditional flours in her recipes.  After a lot of investigation, she discovered that no single gluten free flour can be used.  Rather, a blend of nut and bean flours gave a delicious and nutritious taste to her baked goods.  Using this blend, Mrs. Bryant’s now offers a gluten free apple peel spice bread, a honey herb yeast bread, and our delicious 3-in-1 chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal cookie. 

     This is not the end of our gluten free product line, more products are under development. 

     With Mrs. Bryant’s now offering gluten free, all natural, no sugar added apple sauces; the Tour de Cusine spice blends and rubs; and the gluten free baked goods Mrs. Bryant’s has established itself as the source for tasty, healthy, all natural, local gourmet specialty foods and sauces.
